Josey slips by Southeast Bulloch

Two perfectly executed trick plays gave the Josey Eagles a 20-7 halftime lead and took all of the momentum away from the home team as the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets (1-5, 0-3 Region 3-AA) dropped their third straight region contest 41-23 Friday night.

Portal looking for first win

This time last season, the Portal Panthers were a struggling 0-5 and 0-1 in region play. They rallied to win four out of the last five and made the playoffs.

Jackets earn right to host region tourney

BROOKLET - The game that would determine home-field advantage for the Region 3-AA tournament was a pitcher's duel until the fourth inning, when Jamie Bohannon broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI double down the third base line that drove in Bridgett Devlin and sparked a five-run rally that put the Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets (16-4, 13-1) up for good against the visiting Screven County Lady Gamecocks in a 6-1 SEB win Tuesday.

Pick your poison

Georgia Southern made more than one statement with its dramatic, last-second victory over South Dakota State Saturday at Paulson Stadium.

Aside from the fact that the Eagles let everybody know that they just might have a clutch kicker named Jesse Hartley for those no-time-on-the-clock, 54-yard, game-winning field goal situations, they sent a very clear message to every team left on their schedule: Pick your poison.

Homecoming treat: Claxton gets first win of season

The Claxton Tigers ran 49 offensive plays and fullback Jamalcolm Morgan carried the football on 33 of them as the Tigers got their first win of the season, a 14-0 homecoming win over Jenkins County.

Jackets let one slip away

Tharon Davis had 22 carries for 219 yards and three touchdowns, and the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets (1-4, 0-2 Region 3-AA) got the ball back down 21-20 with 1:57 to go in the game after stopping the Westside (Augusta) Patriots on fourth down, but couldn't capitalize as they dropped their second-straight region game in front of a capacity homecoming crowd Friday.

BROOKLET - The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets look to build on the performance of quarterback Joe Wilson after the loss in Swainsboro on Friday, Sept. 21 and put together an offensive show for a crowd of students and alumni during tonight's homecoming game against Region 3-AA foe Westside at Fred Shaver Field.
