It’s Fair time

If you can feel excitement in the air this week, it is likely because of the annual Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair. In its 55th year, the fair begins with a bang at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 with a parade, and brings fun, food and family time to Bulloch and six other counties for six whole days.

Sheriff hopefuls face off

Massive food drop to feed storm victims

One week after Hurricane Matthew left thousands of Bulloch County residents without power, water or food, the community pulled together with tremendous compassion to help. Volunteers will distribute 40,000 pounds of food to those in need Saturday.

Power expected to be restored for most of Bulloch by Thursday

Excelsior Electric Membership Corporation spokesman Greg Brooks said most customers who have been without power since Hurricane Matthew rattled Bulloch County should have power restored by the end of the day Thursday.

Spencer pleads, sentenced to 20 years

In a plea agreement, Grant James Spencer pled guilty on Tuesday to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the Aug. 28, 2014, beating death of fellow Georgia Southern University student Michael Gatto.

Power restoration process slow but steady
