Armstrong Atlantic student still missing

It has been well over two weeks since Armstrong Atlantic State University student Bryce Daniel Tarter was last seen. Search parties have combed the area, fliers have been distributed, and alerts have been posted and forwarded through e-mail and links on the Internet. It appears as if Tarter - and his white 2000 Nissan Frontier - disappeared into thin air.

Chance of up to 4 inches of snow Friday night

Forecasters upped the chance of snowfall in Bulloch County to a promising 90 percent after weather conditions changed Thursday. The Statesboro area could see up to four inches of snowfall by Saturday morning - enough that area children (and adults) would be able to make snowmen.

Suspects charged in copper wire theft at Julia P.

When Bryan County law enforcement officers went to a Pembroke-area home to serve warrants Thursday, they found two men burning insulation off a large amount of copper wiring. Suspicious, they contacted Statesboro Police, and detectives determined the wiring was stolen from the Statesboro area, said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.

County Commissioner George Jackson passes

Bulloch County Commissioner and retired Georgia State Patrol Sergeant George T. Jackson, 57, died Sunday in Augusta due to complications stemming from a long illness. Friends and associates mourned Monday as they recalled his kindness, fairness and integrity.
