Agriculture: A Bulloch tradition

Before visitors to the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair can get to the midway, they pass by a part of the fairgrounds that represent the fair's origin and theme. It's not just about rides and cotton candy; the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair is an agricultural fair that celebrates and preserves the rich heritage of the region's agricultural industry.

State of the Fair

In spite of rainy weather that nixed the fair parade Monday and dampened the fairgrounds Wednesday, record attendance Tuesday, paired with hopefully decent weather the rest of the week, could help recoup any losses, said Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair Chairman Darrell Colson.

Tuskegee Airmen visit GSU

The government said they could not fly in the United States military. Government studies depicted them as inferior, unintelligent, sub-human. But the Tuskegee Airmen, the United State's first squadron of African-American pilots, proved them wrong. Three Tuskeegee Airmen and the widow of a late Airman spoke Tuesday at the Georgia Southern University Information and Technology Building's auditorium. The presentation, sponsored by the Georgia Southern University's Golden Key Honor Society, was free and open to the public.
