GBI still investigating Bulloch Clerk of Courts office

Georgia Bureau of Investigations agents are still reviewing documents seized in August from the Bulloch County Clerk of Courts office, but no specific crime has yet been determined, said Statesboro GBI Special Agent-in-Charge Micah Ward.

Man killed in single vehicle accident

A Portal man was killed Sunday morning in a single vehicle accident on Ga. 67 near Statesboro, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 45 reports.

Veterans Day 2010 - Saying thank you

Tears fell as people became emotional Thursday during the 2010 Veteran's Day Community Service program, sponsored by the American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90. The program was held at Emma Kelley Theater in the Averitt Center for the Arts. The program included patriotic music, words of honor and appreciation for veterans, and memories from those who served.

Wild chase ends in arrest

An armed Marine who was reportedly going hunting with a female friend led state troopers and sheriff's deputies on a wild chase early Thursday morning, cutting through cotton fields and switching trucks before hiding in the woods with a .270 rifle.

Irene Brock strolled sprightly down the hall Thursday at Southern Manor Retirement Inn, pushing her walker in front of her and smiling. As she rounded the corner to the activity room, a small crowd of people greeted her with calls of "Happy Birthday!" Brock will be 100 years old Saturday.

Third entering auto suspect apprehended

Screven County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Wednesday who was sought by Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies in connection to a number of entering auto cases this week. Screven authorities charged Martese Daquann Williams, of Waters Grove Road, Sylvania, with simple battery and interference with an emergency phone call during an incident in Screven County Wednesday, said public information officer Brett Dickerson.

Miniature horses victims of attacks

A pack of stray dogs attacked several horses and a calf on Pulaski Road Sunday near the Bulloch/Candler county line, resulting in emergency surgery for three miniature horses. One of the horses, as well as the calf, died Tuesday.
