Help in hard times

During the holidays, citizens having a hard time making ends meet need help to ensure their tables aren't empty. And that's where the Statesboro Food Bank comes in. The Food Bank handed out more than 200 turkey breast rolls Tuesday, along with other food to make sure recipients have a full Thanksgiving meal today.

Two killed in vehicle accidents

A Register woman was killed in a single vehicle accident Monday morning, and a man was killed Tuesday in a crash with an 18-wheeler. These fatal accidents followed the death of a pedestrian who walked into traffic Saturday morning, adding up to three people killed within the past four days.

Bulloch schools make AYP

It's good news for the Bulloch County school system. According to recent reports, for the first time in three years, all 15 Bulloch County Schools achieved AYP - Adequate Yearly Progress, the formula states use to determine if their schools are meeting academic expectations under the federal government's No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).
