Metal theft suspect found guilty of assault

A man caught in the act of stealing metal in 2011 was found guilty Tuesday of aggravated assault. Bulloch County Superior Court Judge Gates Peed sentenced James Christopher McMillan, 30, Bell Road, Brooklet, to 20 years to serve in prison.

Hubert Tankersley dies at 69 after battle with cancer

Longtime pastor and school administrator Hubert Pierce Tankersley Jr. died Wednesday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility after a long battle with cancer. He was 69.
