Tharp is past president of the Bulloch County Historical Society and has served on the board of the Statesboro Arts Council.

Sex offender charged with sexual battery

A registered sex offender was arrested Saturday after a woman said he grabbed her inappropriately. Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies arrested Deontray Antwone Lewis, 29, of Lundy Trailer Park, on charges of sexual battery.

Wild weather Sunday causes minor damage
