Local historic barn being restored, dedicated

Just off U.S. 80 West at Woodrum Road, a bit of history is being preserved. One of Bulloch County's largest mule barns, once a part of the Paul H. Johnson farm, is being restored. A barn dance and dedication for family and invited guests will be held Saturday.

Home invasion suspects arrested

Two men suspected in a July 6 home invasion are now behind bars. Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said the men ransacked the house on Bella Terra Road near Brooklet while an elderly couple hid in a locked bedroom during the robbery.

21 arrested in drug sweep

An early-morning drug sweep in Portal Thursday led to more than 20 arrests, with more suspects expected to be taken into custody Friday.
