Moe's being sold

Atlanta-based Raving Brands has entered into an agreement to sell its Tex-Mex chain, Moe's Southwest Grill LLC, to Focus Brands, operator of Carvel and Cinnabon shops. Raving Brands said a definitive agreement was signed this past weekend with Focus Brands.

Clash of jewelry chains comes to the Mall

The clash of the jewelry titans has come to Statesboro. With the opening this past Friday of Kay Jewelers in the Statesboro Mall, two of the three largest jewelry chains in the country now have stores here. The other titan is Friedman's Jewelers which also has a corner "slot" inside of the Mall.

Statesboro Bypass gets a contractor - finally

After years of delay and anticipation, widening of the remaining portion of the Veteran's Memorial Parkway (Statesboro Bypass) is officially underway. The portion of the Bypass stretching from Highway 301 South to Highway 301 North encompasses some of the heaviest traveled roadway in this area functioning as a main thoroughfare and not necessarily as the bypass it was intended to be.
