The Answer Doc by Dr. Christopher Munger

Some of the common injuries that we see in the summertime are animal bites. People are outside more often and walking through neighborhoods. Families go and visit other families. This leads to situations where people come into contact with cats and dogs to which they are unfamiliar. Out of these encounters, we occasionally end up with animal bites.

Bulloch History by Roger Allen

In 1767, Englishman Dr. Joseph Priestley developed the process by which one could flavor water beverages. His first flavors included sasparilla, birch bark, dandelion and several fruit-flavored drinks. Although Swedish chemist Torben Bergman developed the process to carbonate water, it wasn't until 1832 that American John Waters developed a machine capable of producing large quantities of carbonated soda water.

Marcy E. Thornton

In last week's column, I suggested that the easiest way to begin planning your wedding is to make a list of your (and your fiancé's) fantasy wedding requirements. Now, however, is the time to get down to the bottom line. A wedding should not, under any circumstances, put your marriage in the red. The ugly truth is that, according to wedding author Jennifer L. Shawne, the average wedding costs about twenty thousand dollars. Yep, that's a two followed by four zeros.

Thinking of God by Larry Sheehy

An old saying suggests that opinions are a little like noses - everybody has one. Well, everyone does have opinions ... at least one, and on just about every subject under the sun. Most are perfectly willing to express them, too, given the chance. A lack of real knowledge or experience in the subject matter is hardly ever a deterrent to our expressing those opinions to others, willing listeners or not.
