Benson: 'Future is now'

The Sun Belt Conference started sponsoring football in 2001. Since then the league has taken plenty of lumps in the hyper-competitive world of college football. Sun Belt teams routinely struggled against competition from other conferences and the enrollment of the league has been volatile as several waves of realignment have forced the league to regroup and re-brand itself over the years.

Inside Bulloch Business with DeWayne Grice: The State of Bar-B-Q in the Boro is strong

Nothing screams "Southern" more than Bar-B-Q. Long before Statesboro was famous for its Eagles, it was known as the Bar-B-Q Capital of the South. In fact, many argue that the center of the Bar-B-Q universe is located in the heart of downtown Statesboro, in a large Bar-B-Q pit behind the cinderblock building that houses the legendary Vandy's Bar-B-Q. It's not quite the job today as it was earlier; about all that ...

I walk the line

The first day it rained. The second day it rained. The third day the sun came out, slowly and sheepishly, as though embarrassed by her failure to perform earlier in the week. The beach swelled with people, families mostly, and the toys of various sizes and costs without which the vacationers would have had to notice the ocean or, worse, engage in conversation.

Parenting Advice with John Rosemond: Rescue the boys so they will be men

Have you ever heard of an addict who was cured of his or her addiction because someone limited, but did not eliminate, their access to the substance or behavior in question? No, you have not. Is an addiction to gambling less harmful if the addict is only allowed to gamble five hours a week? No, it is not. The proposition is absurd.
