Perkins signs with Shorter

Statesboro High's Reggie Perkins, center, signed a national letter of intent to play football at Shorter College in Rome, Ga., on Wednesday on the campus of SHS. Perkins, a linebacker, was influenced by the religious background of the NAIA program. "I visited Shorter last Friday and they're a very religious school," he said. "I'm coming from a religious background - so that had to be my number one choice to go there." The Hawks went 7-4 last season.
