A man recently convicted in a Millen armed robbery stands trial next Thursday for a similar incident that took place in Statesboro the day before the Jenkins County robbery.
Vandy Mack Daniels, 42, is charged with shooting a clerk at a West Main Street convenience store in the head March 6, 2006.
He was recently sentenced Jenkins County after being convicted of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime,  stemming from a March 7, 2006 attempt to rob a Millen convenience store, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections Internet web site.

Daniels faces the same charges in Bulloch County. Ogeechee Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney Keith McIntyre will lead the prosecution in a trial that is expected to last through next Friday.
Not only is Daniels accused of robbing Mighty Mike's Hot Stop on West Main Street, where police said he shot a clerk in the head, but he also faces charges of robbing a milk delivery man behind Statesboro Nursing Home a short time later.
Daniels faces charges of two counts of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was convicted of attempted armed robbery in Screven County in 1996, sentenced to 10 years; of armed robbery in Jenkins County in 1984, sentenced to five years; of escape in Bulloch county in 1984, sentenced to five years.
Also, in 1983 Daniels was sentenced to five years in prison for each of two aggravated assault convictions; five years for a second degree criminal damage conviction and five years for a theft by taking charge, all  in Jenkins County.
Daniels has also been known to go by the names John Willie Daniels, Michael Davis and Mike Davis, according to the web site.
