Two men invaded a Gary Futch Road home Tuesday, beating a woman until she gave them a safe combination and then left her tied after taking the cash, Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said.

Around 8:30 a.m., Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a reported "home invasion type armed robbery," he said.

The female victim told deputies she walked from her house into the carport when "two stocky black males armed with a hand gun grabbed her and forced her back into the house," he said.

One man struck the woman, and forced her to the floor, holding her while the other "rummaged from room to room," he said.

The suspect found a safe in an office inside the home and returned to where the other man was holding the woman down. They both demanded the safe's combination and struck the victim, who then " told them where the code was," Anderson said. "The safe was opened and some money was taken from it."

The two men, described as " about six feet tall, stocky builds, wearing ski masks, dark clothing and gloves"  tied the woman up and left in her truck, he said. "The truck was located a short distance away on Metts Road. It appears the suspects got into another vehicle and left the area."

Anderson asked citizens "having seen any vehicles occupied by two or three black males on Metts Road near Gary Futch Road between 8 and 8:30 a.m. (Tuesday) morning" call Bulloch County Sheriff's Investigator Jason Long at (912) 764-1747 or the sheriff's department at 764-8888.
