    Washaun Ealey’s numbers are unreal.
The junior running back has rushed for 1,859 yards and 40 touchdowns this year on just 154 attempts. That’s just over 12 yards a carry.
“It’s just natural, God-given ability,” said Emanuel County Institute coach Milan Turner. “Along with that it’s just having been committed. He works hard in the weight room  and practices like he plays.”
The speedster in the Bulldog backfield has also punched in nine two-point conversions.
“One of the things that really makes this kid unique is his knowledge of the game,” said Turner. “He knows what everybody’s supposed to do. He can call plays in the huddle and tell any one of our linemen what their roles are, who their blocking, backs where to line up, where they’re going — it’s just amazing.  All those thing combined make him a special player.”
Ealey and the Bulldogs won the Region 3-A championship Friday night in Savannah against Savannah Country Day. ECI won 33-17 and the junior scored five times.
“He’s got great hands, he blocks, he has the ability to run away from people, he has the ability to run over people, he has the ability to shake and make people miss,” said Turner. “You put all that together it makes him a real threat.”
