Whether you are thrifty, a bargain hunter, a collector or just looking for some useful secondhand items, the place to be on Saturday is at the Statesboro Service League’s annual Attic Sale. Hosted at the Ogeechee Fairgrounds main exhibit building, the event promises to be best and largest garage sale in the area.
Thousands of items including furniture, baby items, computers, tools, electronics and collectibles will be on sale from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Mandy Fortune, 2007 Attic Sale Chairman, recommends arriving early.
“People start getting to the fairgrounds and in line by 5 a.m. so if you’re looking for something specific, early birds do get the best buys,” she said.
Approximately 120 members of the Statesboro Service League donate items for the Attic Sale  This is the only fundraiser the League coordinates each year and all proceeds benefit local community projects.
“These programs make an enormous impact on children and families in Bulloch County and we feel all of our service projects enhance social, educational, and emotional development of children,” Fortune said. “With that in mind, our goal is to make $40,000 this year.”
During the four-hour sale, two raffles are drawn and door prizes are awarded.   There is a $2 entry fee and food and beverages are sold during the sale.
