Police Report - 5-31-14; A store employee said he found a snack machine had been broken into.

STATESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

    ▲ Eddie Michael Norman, 52, Pine Mount Boulevard — tag light requirements, DUI.
    ▲ Lee Garrett Stevens, 43, Statesboro — wanted person, simple battery.
    ▲ Jordan Ostrom Franz, 22, Lanier Drive — DUI (refused test), obstruction (misdemeanor).
    ▲ Jarvis Jamal Scroggins, age and address unavailable — theft by shoplifting (misdemeanor), giving false information, wanted person.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ STEAK ’N SHAKE — An employee told police at 4:16 p.m. Thursday that someone ate various food items and left without paying.
    ▲ BELK — A woman told police at 12:06 p.m. Tuesday that she left a small purse at the register on Saturday evening after making a purchase. She later discovered that someone used her credit card and made more than $500 worth of purchases at several area stores.
    ▲ HOWARD LUMBER — A store employee told police at 6:44 a.m. Thursday that he found a snack machine had been broken into and $50 in cash had been taken.
    ▲ PARKER’S ENZONE — The manager told police at 7:18 a.m. Thursday that the lottery dispenser had been tampered with. She said video surveillance showed a male had taken two lottery tickets and e-cigarettes from the counter while the clerk was assisting other customers shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
    ▲ HEAVENLY HAM — The owner told police that someone broke into the business and damaged property between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday. Nothing was reported missing.
    ▲ POPLAR STREET — A man told police at 6:49 p.m. Thursday that someone had broken into his home while he was sleeping. He was awakened by the sound of glass shattering  and found that his walker had been moved from in front of the window.

    ▲ Jeremy Simeon McGhee, 22, Brooklet Leefield Road, Brooklet — simple battery (family violence), wanted person.
    ▲ Calvin Oduarius Marquise Brewton, 25, Chandler Road — obstruction (misdemeanor), giving false information (two counts), sale of marijuana, entering auto (three counts).
    ▲ Crystal Hester, 21, Chandler Road — obstruction.
    ▲ Jacob Thomas Jenkins, 17, Broomstraw Trace, Ellabell — driving while license suspended or revoked, possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce), use or possession of drug-related object.
    ▲ Robert William Nesmith, 33, Stilson Leefield Road, Brooklet — theft by receiving stolen property (misdemeanor).
    ▲ Edson Arrentes Nicolas, 23, Bermuda Run Apartments — theft by conversion, theft by receiving stolen property (felony).

➤ Incidents
    ▲ LANGSTON CHAPEL MIDDLE SCHOOL —A deputy responded to the school at 4:18 p.m. Thursday to document a report on an unruly juvenile. The deputy met with the principal, who said the school is taking care of the matter. The incident, a simple battery, reportedly occurred around 8:15 a.m. May 23, the last day of school. The principal said the juvenile offender’s mother has not responded to letters or phone calls from the school. No further information was immediately available.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY POLICE
➤ Arrests
    ▲ Brian Robert Dunn, 20, Georgia Avenue — possession of alcohol (under 21 years of age), false ID.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ Officers issued eight traffic citations and two traffic warnings and assisted three motorists Thursday.
    ▲ THE COVE — Officers served a warrant and arrested a man at 9 p.m. Thursday. He was charged with obstruction and giving false information for an incident that occurred Dec. 20.
