Eagles visit JU for final road game

Georgia Southern got what it needed out of the final two Southern Conference weekends of the regular season, sweeping Furman and taking two of three from then first place Western Carolina.
The Eagles (33-20, 15-12 SoCon) have one more game left before a long rest leading up to the SoCon tournament, which begins on Tuesday, May 20 in Charleston, S.C.
They face Jacksonville (17-30) today at 6:30 p.m., on the road, in the final regular season game of the season. It's the last chance for a tuneup, but GSU won't be trying anything new.
“Whether it’s the last game or not, I don’t think it’s going to be anything different," GSU coach Rodney Hennon said. "We’ll pretty much stay with our normal guys in the lineup. I think it’s important we go down there and continue to play good baseball. "It was important to play well (against WCU), win the series and have some momentum. For two weekends in a row we got good pitching and we played pretty good baseball. We’ll head into the tournament with some confidence after we have a chance to rest up a little bit.”
