Local Roundup: BA drops opener at Southland


    AMERICUS — The Bulloch Academy Gators dropped the first of a three game series 2-1 at Southland Academy in the opening round of the GISA Class AAA state baseball playoffs on Friday.
    Joshua Bishop went the distance on the mound, and Lee Waters led the Gators with a pair of hits.
    The series resumes in Americus today at noon.

SBCPRD tourney rescheduled
    The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Mill Creek Tennis Complex Adult Tennis Tournament which was scheduled for today has been rescheduled  for Saturday, May 31.
   The tournament will consist of men's and women's singles, with intermediate and advanced divisions.
    The matches will be best-of-three sets, and prizes and trophies will be awarded to finalists.
