Some reminders from your election supervisor

To the Citizens of Bulloch County:
RE:  Voter Registration and Cancelled Voters
We encourage you to
➤ Check your voter registration to ensure that you are registered to vote and at the correct street address
➤ To make sure that you know what your State Representative and County Commissioner and Board of Education Districts are.
How can you find out?
➤ Look at your voter registration card
➤ Go to
Check your street address, name, county, etc — April 21 is the last day to make any changes in your voter registration or to register to vote.  There is an application that you can complete, print it out, and mail it directly to us (requiring it to be put in an envelope with our address and a stamp) or to the Secretary of State postage free.
Request an Absentee Ballot — complete the form, print it out, and mail, fax, email the form to our office.
Review your sample ballot (after April 5.
➤ Call (912) 764-6502, fax (912) 764-8167 or email ( or our office — we will need the name as you are registered, date of birth or the last four digits of your Social Security number to confirm we have the correct voter.
Why is this important?
➤ The Secretary of State (Election’s Division) has a process that is used to “clean-up” the voting records. For example, a person who registers to vote and never votes stays in what is called an “active” status for at least 3 years. The voter is mailed a confirmation notice to confirm or change their status, and if there is no response within 60 days, the voter is then put on an “inactive” status.  The “inactive voter” is still eligible to vote through the next two (federal) General Elections. If there is still no response from the voter, they are removed from the rolls as a registered voter.   A notice of cancellation is not sent to the voter.
➤ This year, we have more than 2,200 people purged for various reasons:
➤ Voter has passed away
➤ Voter has relocated and has not updated their voter registration
➤ Voter has chosen not to vote after having registered to do so
Important Dates to Remember
➤ April 21 — Last day to make a change in your voter registration or register to vote
➤ April 28 — Early Voting begins at the Courthouse for next three weeks
➤ May 10 — Saturday Voting at the Courthouse
➤ May 12 — Early Voting begins at the Honey Bowen Building
➤ May 16 — Last day for Early Voting in both locations and to mail out ballots
➤ May 20 — Primary Election Day (vote at your precinct 7 a.m. — 7 p.m.)
Thank you.
