Childs-Purdy

    Jamie Lynette Childs became the bride of Isaac Benjamin Purdy during a 4 p.m. ceremony held on March 24, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Elberton, Ga. Pastor Mike Franklin officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Peggy Fortson of Cornelia, Ga., and Bruce Childs of Elberton. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Doris Fortson of Elberton and Jane Childs of Elberton and Russell Childs of Locust Grove, Ga., and is the great-granddaughter of Thelma Childs of Elberton.
    The groom is the son of Dr. Mike and Debbie Purdy of Athens, Ga., and is the grandson of Joan Smith.
    Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride chose her sister, Kelly Banks, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rosanne Logan Major, Lori Brady Starrett and Demetria McClouden. Kelsey Banks was flower girl.
    Chris McCall was the groom’s best man. Groomsmen were Shane Purdy, Jeremy Purdy and Jim Loggins. Isaac Purdy was ring bearer.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Time Square Cafe in Elberton.
    The couple honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and now resides in northeast Georgia.
