Cindell Samantha Nesmith and Matthew Walker Mathis

    Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Nesmith of Statesboro, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cindell Samantha Nesmith of Statesboro, to Matthew Walker Mathis, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Mathis of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Steven and Erma Thompson of Statesboro and the late Dexter Nesmith and Mae Hendrix of Statesboro. Cindell is a Statesboro High School graduate and attended Georgia Southern University, graduating with a degree in early childhood education. She is employed by the Bulloch County Board of Education as a first-grade teacher at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of R.C. “Mac” Mathis and the late Helen Mathis of Statesboro and the late John Paul and Beatrice Ellis of Statesboro. Matt is a David Emanuel Academy graduate and attended Georgia Southern University with an affiliation with the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He is employed by American Roofing as the general manager at the Columbus, Ga., branch.
    The couple has planned to wed on April 12, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at Quinney Oaks Plantation in Millen, Ga.
    All friends and family are welcome.
