Rawls-Chavers

    The Rev. and Mrs. Willie A. Rawls of Pembroke announce the engagement of their daughter, Joni Rae Rawls, to Victor Jamie Chavers of Portal, son of Loice and Jimmy Chavers of Portal.
    The wedding is planned for October 6, 2007, at 4 p.m. at the Miller Grove Baptist Church in Statesboro on Highway 24 pass Mill Creek Park. The reception will follow at Snella’s Place Chapel in Statesboro on Highway 301 North.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Leola Rawls and Roscoe Rawls of Pembroke and Pauline McCollum and the late Harry McCollum of Stilson. She is a 2000 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and attended Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in middle grades. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Walden University in middle grades mathematics. She is employed at Langston Chapel Middle School as a mathematics teacher.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Loice and Wilken Washington of Portal and the late Mattie and George Chavers of Statesboro. He is a 1997 graduate of Portal High School and is currently attending Georgia Southern University. He is employed by Georgia Pacific as an operator technician.
    No local invitations are being sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
