Police Report - 2-14-14; A woman told police that two large sections of a tree fell on her property.

➤ Arrests
    ▲ Treymayne Kendall Mitchell, 27, Duke of Windsor Street, East Point, Ga. — following  too closely, open container, DUI.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ BEDFORD STREET — A man told police he was in his bedroom when he heard a person trying to get in his back door. When police arrived, they found the door damaged just below the doorknob where it appeared someone had tried to get in the house by knocking out the glass.
    ▲ FAIR ROAD — A man was arrested during a traffic stop when police stopped him for following another vehicle too closely. After police stopped the driver, they found an open container and determined he was intoxicated.
    ▲ THE AVENUE AT SOUTHERN — A woman told police a man and woman were arguing when, according to the female victim, her boyfriend fired a shot toward her car. According to the female victim, the boyfriend fled on foot.
    ▲ HARVEY’S SUPERMARKET — (Fair Road) A woman told police someone entered her car and stole her wallet. There was no sign of forced entry.
    ▲ WEST MAIN STREET — A woman told police that two large sections of a tree fell on her property. One fell through the back of her house, and another damaged her backyard privacy fence. When police arrived at the house, they saw that one section of the tree had fallen though the back roof and was visible inside the residence. The woman was advised for safety reasons not to go inside the house. She was also advised to contact her insurance company.
    ▲ NORTHSIDE DRIVE EAST — A man was driving along Northside Drive when a frozen tree limb fell through the car. Police contacted EMS, who examined the driver and passenger for injuries. Neither was transported to the hospital. The car was towed, and the driver and passenger were taken to Fox Ridge Apartments.
    ▲ SUMMIT APARTMENTS — A woman told police that sometime between 5:15 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, someone shook the vending machine in the building, causing items to fall down.
    ▲ SOUTH MAIN STREET — Police responded to a report of a dead person at a residence. The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau Detective Section Supervisor for review.
