Early deadline for Herald Tuesday night

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Statesboro and southeast Georgia from noon Tuesday through 5 p.m. Wednesday. It may bring freezing rain, sleet and snow.
With that in mind, here are the Statesboro Herald's plans for addressing the potential weather emergency:
If you are a weekday home delivery customer, we have set an early deadline and early press start Tuesday night for Wednesday's newspaper. Weather permitting, our goal is to begin newspaper home delivery by 10 p.m. Tuesday, so most papers should be delivered by 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. Of course, we also will ensure the papers are delivered in the safest way possible for our carriers on the roads.
The wintry weather also may knock power out in some areas, but if you have Internet access, as a subscriber you can access local news and updates on statesboroherald.com. If you are not already signed up, you may activate your digital access at statesboroherald.com.
The National Weather Service recommends stocking up on medicine, batteries, flashlights, a battery-powered radio and an alternate heat source such as a generator, non-electric space heater or wood for your fireplace.
It is certainly possible the weather system may pass by with little incident. However, we are planning for winter weather that will disrupt the normal routine for most residents in southeast Georgia.
