An 18-wheeler took out a Statesboro street sign and briefly held up traffic Friday afternoon, but the driver "got impatient and left" before police arrived, said Donald Logan, who stopped to help direct traffic and assist the driver. The sign was temporarily stuck underneath the truck, but then the unidentified driver "hit the gas and went," he said. The truck was blue, the trailer was white and had the company name "Warner" on the side, he said. Officers were unable to locate the truck, which traveled east on East Main Street, Logan said.
