Hurdy-gurdy men play PAC tonight

    An attentive audience listened as internationally-renowned French musicians Patrick Bouffard and Gilles Chabenat gave a demonstration entitled “Fun and Experimentation with the Wheel Fiddle,” Monday afternoon in the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall at Georgia Southern University’s Foy Fin e Arts Center.
    Bouffard and Chabenat traveled from France to give demonstrations Monday and today on the hurdy-gurdy, a stringed instrument with one or more melody strings, several drone strings, and a keyboard. Their stay at Georgia Southern culminates with a free concert tonight at the Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. The pair will give a demonstration today from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. entitled “The Hurdy-Gurdy Then and Now: Middle Ages to Mozart to Led Zeppelin and Beyond.” For more information, visit
