Weylon Wallace

A man wanted in Virginia was found Friday hiding in a Clito-area mobile home with a juvenile runaway from the same state.

Bulloch County sheriff's S.T.E.P. (Sheriff's Targeted Enforcement Patrol) unit deputies arrested Weylon Wallace, 36, of Kyle Sorrell Road, after "receiving information that a wanted person from Virginia Beach, Va., was living in a mobile home in Newton's Mobile Home Park," Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said.

Deputies found Wallace and the 16-year-old girl at the residence.

"Wallace provided deputies with false information as to his identity in an attempt to conceal his warrants from Virginia" but was eventually arrested and transported to the Bulloch County Jail, Anderson said.

The juvenile, a runaway from Virginia Beach since 2012, was taken into custody as well. She was detained in the Claxton Regional Youth Detention Center pending return to Virginia, Anderson said.

The sheriff said additional charges are possible against Wallace "for his part in harboring the juvenile."

Wallace is held without bond on charges of giving false information to law enforcement, obstruction, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, along with his warrants from Virginia.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (912) 764-8888.
