A woman was arrested after she intentionally backed her vehicle into her male companion, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

Patrol deputies were dispatched Sunday to U.S. Highway 25 near the Jenkins County line for a male who had been intentionally struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the 42-year-old man, who stated that he and his female companion, Lakisha Bobbie Lee, 26, of Broad Street in Wrens, had been traveling from Wrens to Statesboro on Highway 25 when a verbal argument began over a cellphone, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Monday.

Lee pulled over, told the victim to get out — which he did — and then she also exited the vehicle also. Lee then physically assaulted the victim, re-entered the vehicle, put it in reverse and struck him with the car, Anderson said.

The victim was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Jenkins County sheriff's deputies located and stopped Lee, and she was transported back to Bulloch County, Anderson said.

Lee was booked into the Bulloch County Jail and charged with aggravated assault and several other traffic charges. She awaits further court action.
