    SAVANNAH — The Southeast Bulloch Lady Yellow Jackets (11-4, 6-1 Region 1A-AAA) only needed five inning to defeat Islands 15-1 on Wednesday in region action.
    Blair Chapman pitched all five innings, striking out five. She also crossed the plate twice and drove in four more.
    Storm Williams (3-for-4) drove in four runs, and Emma Britt (2-for-4) drove in two. Williams and Britt eache scored a run.
    The Yellow Jackets will face Appling County — the team responsible for SEB's only region loss — on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., in Brooklet.

SBCPRD to host teen tennis tourney
    The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department and Kiwanis Club of Statesboro will present the 2013  Junior Open Tennis Championship Tournament at the Mill Creek Tennis Complex on Saturday, Sept. 21,  for ages 15-18. 
    Registration is $15 prior to the day of the event.

SHS JV drops a pair
    Statesboro High School’s junior varsity volleyball team lost at home to Savannah Arts Academy 25-27 and 19-25 on Tuesday afternoon.
    Both Bekah Welch and Kameron Parker had three serving aces while Jordan Collins had two serving aces, one dig, and a block.
    Tyra Davis had one ace and one kill. Loreal Tootle and Alana McMahon each had one kill.
