Police Report 7-24-13: A woman was caught shoplifting lotion, bedroom slippers and fake fingernails.

    ▲ Keith Clinton Brinson, 32, West Lee Street, Brooklet — DUI.
    ▲ Samantha Louise Gray, 21, Harriet’s Bluff Road — failure to maintain lane, DUI.
    ▲ Antwon Maurice Green, 26, Brentwood Drive, Savannah — probation violation.
    ▲ Jamie Johnson Weeks, 27, West Grady Street — wanted person.

➤  Incidents
    ▲ BUCKHEAD DRIVE — Someone left without paying for an oil change and car wash.
    ▲ DEANNA DRIVE — A man told police he was tired of his wife sneaking alcohol into the house. She told police she was tired of him trying to go everywhere with her. Officers told them both they could not make the other leave the residence, and they said they could live peaceably together for the evening.
    ▲ CAMPUS CROSSINGS — A TV, $25 cash from one wallet, $35 cash from another, and a “Bill My Parents” purple cheetah print debit card were stolen. The tenants told police the apartment door may have been left unlocked.
    ▲ WALMART — A woman said her purse was taken from her vehicle.
    In a separate incident, police spoke with a man who said he had been robbed at an “unknown apartment complex.” He said a woman he was familiar with picked him up, and two men in the car with her beat him and took his cellphone and his shoes.
    ▲ MADISON MEADOWS — A woman said a man threatened her with bodily harm.   The man denied the accusation.

    ▲ Tynishia Danielle Jones, 35, Lanier Drive — felony theft by receiving stolen property, theft by receiving property stolen from another state.
    ▲ Lorenzo Lanier Rogers, 34, Lanier Drive - felony theft by receiving stolen property, theft by receiving property stolen from another state.
    ▲ Jennifer Leanne Smith, 23, North College Street — probation violation.

➤  Incidents
    ▲ TEAL CIRCLE — (Statesboro) A small dog playing with its owner’s children saw neighbor children and went to play with them, the owner said. The neighbor told deputies that the dog nipped at her children’s heels. She threatened to shoot the dog’s owner, he said. She later came to his home with her husband, who was armed with a pistol. The dog owner called deputies, who told the owner to keep his dog leashed, and told the neighbor man to put away the pistol, for which he was licensed. Deputies told the woman to stay out of her neighbor’s yard.
    ▲ WIGFALL ROAD — (Register) A woman was arrested after telling deputies a man they sought was not there. They found him hiding in the home. Both were arrested.
    ▲ ROCKY FORD ROAD — (Portal) A woman said a former roommate came to her home drunk and damaged a screen door.
    ▲ MAG DAVIS ROAD — (Pembroke) A man reported the theft of a red Snapper riding lawn mower.
    ▲ DOLLAR GENERAL/U.S. HIGHWAY 301 SOUTH — (Statesboro) A woman was caught shoplifting lotion, bedroom slippers and fake fingernails.
    ▲ MISTY COURT — (Statesboro) A woman said her stepsister punched her in the face.
    ▲ SHANE ROAD — (Statesboro) A woman told deputies a man violated a temporary protection order by texting her, calling her and using their children as a way to contact her.
    ▲ CLIPONREKA ROAD — Deputies responding to a domestic call were met by a woman who told them she had told dispatchers she did not need them. She said a man had choked her during an argument and he gets angry when he takes too much Xanax. She said she did not want to press charges and didn’t want the offender to know she had called the law.
    ▲ J. ROY WASHINGTON ROAD — (Statesboro) A woman became concerned when a domestic dispute became loud and called for help in mediating.
    ▲ WESTSIDE GROCERY — (Statesboro) Someone punched a glass window, caving it in and leaving a blood trail in the parking lot.
    ▲ SINKHOLE ROAD — (Statesboro) A man reported the theft of two 12-gauge Winchester shotguns and a 20-gauge Stevens shotgun.
    ▲ ADABELLE ROAD — (Register) A man received a letter in the mail along with a money order asking him to cash it and wire more money to a third party. His bank verified the money order to be fraudulent and he believed the correspondence was a scam.
    ▲ RUSHING ROAD — (Statesboro) A woman who had left her child for two months with a man she suspects may be the father returned and tried to take the child, who had been living there all her life. The man told deputies he had arranged visitation for the woman, but did not want to relinquish the child. The mother was told to return to the sheriff’s office with a birth certificate and proper child safety seat.
    ▲ CIRCLE DRIVE — (Statesboro) A woman told deputies a family member calls, texts and sends Facebook messages that are harassing in nature. The offender also threatened to hit her recently during a funeral. She said the argument is over the offender’s unhappiness with the complainant’s deceased husband’s will.
    ▲ BECKY DRIVE — (Statesboro) A man said his brother was staying with him a few weeks when he moved his girlfriend and her child in without permission. An argument resulted in the brother grabbing the complainant by the shirt. The complainant told deputies he wanted the unwanted occupants gone.

    ▲ Cameron Scott Wilkins, 18, Chandler Road — too fast for conditions and DUI.
    ▲ Amelia Marie West, 24, Savannah — headlights violation, DUI.

➤ Incidents
    ▲ Officers issued eight traffic warnings and assisted three motorists Friday–Monday.
    ▲ THE NEST — Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident (hit and run) in the faculty parking lot.
    ▲ SOUTHERN PINES — A counterfeit $20 bill was passed to a food delivery driver.
    ▲ CAMBRIDGE APARTMENTS — Officers assisted Statesboro police in the investigation of a reported sexual assault, meeting with the victim at the hospital.
    ▲ UNIVERSITY PLAZA — Officers assisted Statesboro police with a large crowd and fighting.
    ▲ FREEDOM’S LANDING - Officers responded to the report of possible marijuana odor coming from a room. Upon arrival, officers saw a plate with the last remnants of marijuana and open cans of alcohol that had been consumed. The residents gave permission to search the room, and no other contraband was found. The residents were advised of the school’s alcohol and drug policies and were referred to Judicial Affairs.
