Police Report - August 9

Statesboro Police Arrests    
     No arrests filed.
    
Bulloch Sheriff's Arrests   
    Craig Andrew Pritz, 20, Langston Chapel Road — illegal possession of alprazolam (Xanax), violation of law requiring prescription medicines be kept in original container, marijuana possession.
    Brenda Lee Jenkins, 41, Beaver Dam Road, Sylvania — probation violation.
    Justin Pierce Sprague, 19, Ga. 24 — disorderly conduct.
    Michael Woodrow Helton, 35, Barn Mobile Home Park — terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, simple battery.
    
Georgia State Patrol Arrests
    Troopers issued two traffic violation citations Tuesday.
         
Georgia Southern University Arrests
      Officers issued one traffic citation Tuesday.
        
Statesboro Police Incidents   
    BELK — A juvenile female placed several clothing items in a purse and tried to leave without paying for them.
    WILLOW BEND APARTMENTS — A woman told police someone has been stealing her hydrocodone pills a few at a time, to the  total of 20. She noticed a few missing each day, she said, and has no idea who could be taking the pills.
    GROOVER HOMES — A woman reported arguing with a man she listed by name, who then took several of her undergarments from a plastic container and left her home with them.
        
Bulloch Sheriff's Incidents   
    U.S. 301 NORTH — (Statesboro) A man said someone kicked in the door of his rental house, which was vacant at the time, and spray painted gang-related graffiti on the walls.
    GA. 67/Bella Terra Road — (Denmark) A man called deputies to document damage to his vehicle after he struck a dresser that was in the roadway.
    P. W. Clifton Road — (Statesboro) A woman told deputies an unknown person driving a black Honda two-door car tried to run her off the road.
    TILLMAN POND ROAD — (Nevils) A woman reported her son took a checkbook and forged four blank checks, then cashed them at a bank. They were written to and endorsed by the man, she said.
    BRANNEN FARMS — (Harville Road, Statesboro) Two men reported damage to a corn crop after finding an abandoned vehicle stuck in the field. A Springfield man was listed as the suspect, with two Statesboro citizens, a Guyton citizen and a Rincon citizen listed as witnesses.
    KING ARTHUR DRIVE — (Statesboro) A woman told deputies she found broken beer bottles in her yard and in the roadway after a neighbor had a party. Deputies contacted the offenders, who cleaned up the mess and apologized.
    DAN WATERS LANE — (Statesboro) A juvenile complained to deputies that a Ringold man pawned a speaker he left at another man's house.
    LAKEVIEW ROAD — (Statesboro) A woman said her son became irate and cursed her when she called his friend a punk and said she did not approve of the friend. A neighbor, also the woman's sister,  heard the commotion and went to investigate. The juvenile pushed his aunt and later told deputies he did so because she had no business interfering. Deputies arrested the offender.
    SWALLOW TAIL DRIVE  — (Statesboro) A woman reported the theft of a lime green and silver bicycle.
    
Georgia State Patrol Incidents   
    Troopers issued five warnings and investigated two crashes with two resulting injuries Tuesday.
        
Georgia Southern University Incidents
      Officers issued two traffic warnings, assisted two motorists, and responded to one alarm Tuesday.
    
Animal Shelter Reports
    During the week of July 30-Aug. 5, the Statesboro -Bulloch county Animal Shelter reported the following activity:
    Animals received:
    Rural county areas — 30 dogs and one cat.
    Statesboro City limits — one dog.
    Portal City limits — one dog.
    Brooklet City limits — one dog.
    Abandoned at shelter — two dogs.
    Surrendered by citizens — seven dogs, five cats.
    Number in litters surrendered — 13 puppies, 20 kittens.
    Animals placed:
    Shelter adoptions — six dogs, five cats.
    Humane Society adoptions — three dogs, one cat.
    Returned to owners — one dog.
    Animals deceased:
    Died at shelter — four cats.
    Euthanized from isolation — 36 dogs, 21 cats.
    Euthanized from adoption floor — one dog, one cat.
    Humane enforcement calls:
    Complaints — one about cows, one about a raccoon.
    Court summons/citations — one.
    Warnings issued — two.
    Fees collected:
    Adoption fees — $385
    Surrender fees — $80
    Donations — $40
    Miscellaneous — $5
    
911  Law Enforcement Reports
    Central 911 operators dispatched the following calls Tuesday:
    Bulloch County Sheriff's Department - 10 calls.
    Statesboro Police Department — seven calls.
    Georgia State Patrol Post 45 — two calls.
    Candler County Sheriff's Department — two calls.
    Evans County Sheriff's Department — one call.
    Claxton Police Department — two calls.
    
911 Fire Department Reports
    Central 911 operators dispatched the following calls Tuesday:
    Statesboro Fire Department — three calls.
    Bulloch County Volunteer firefighters — two calls.
    Metter Fire Department — two calls.
        
911 EMS Reports
    Central 911 operators dispatched the following call Tuesday:
    Bulloch County EMS — two accident calls and 10 medical calls.   
    Candler County EMS — one accident call, one fire call and one medical call.  
    Evans County EMS — no medical calls.    
    Central 911 operators also routed  a call to the Georgia Forestry Commission, a call to Bryan County 911 and two calls to Emanuel County 911.
