Dr. and Mrs. John E. Martin Sr. of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Kate Martin of Augusta, Ga., to William Jeffrey Shiver, son of Jeffrey and Traci Shiver of Vidalia, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William F. Williams Sr. and Martha W. Williams of Sandy Springs, Ga., and Dr. and Mrs. John S. Martin of Statesboro. She is a 2008 graduate of Bulloch Academy. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2012 with a degree in Exercise Science and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William F. Shiver of Forsyth, Ga., the late John T. Miller III of Warner Robins, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rosenquest of Eatonton, Ga. He graduated from Vidalia High School in 2006 and earned a degree in Chemistry at Georgia Southern University in 2011. He is serving as the discipleship pastor at Connection Church in Statesboro.
    The couple has planned to wed on May 11, 2013, at
2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Statesboro, with a reception immediately following in the Perry Fellowship Hall at the church.
