Some school systems across southeast Georgia have decided to cancel classes Tuesday because heavy, persistent rains have bogged down a number of dirt roads, making transportation difficult.

Other school systems have decided to hold classes as scheduled Tuesday.

Here is a list of schools and districts in the Statesboro Herald's coverage area that have made announcements as of 8 p.m. Monday:

Bulloch Academy - open

Bulloch County Schools - open

Candler County - open

Evans County - closed

The following had not made an announcement on their websites or social media and could not be reached Monday evening:

Bryan County

Effingham County

Jenkins County

Screven County
