Deen Day Smith nominations sought


Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind awards.
The 25th annual invitation-only gala will be held April 2 at Georgia Southern University’s Nessmith-Lane Conference Center.
Nominations should be of persons who have dedicated a portion of their lives to help others. Nominees would reflect a spirit of giving and compassion and would have made a differences in the lives of the less fortunate; would have gone out of their way to give of their time, effort and otherwise to charitable causes, and been an asset and blessing to those need.
Historically, Deen Day Service to Mankind recipients are benevolent persons who place others before themselves and perform acts of kindness for the sake of the recipient and not for personal gain.
Hundreds of Bulloch County residents have been honored for their service to others in the past.
The speaker for the banquet will be announced at a later date.
Nomination forms may be found in the Statesboro Herald, or online at www.statesboroherald.com/deendaysmith.
Deadline for nominations is March 8.
