Georgia Southern golf coach Larry Mays announced today that Sam Towler (Hertfordshire, England/Bedford Modern School) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles, beginning in the 2013-14 season.
Towler will join the Georgia Southern golf program after compiling an impressive junior resume.     The Georgia Southern swimming and diving team will close out the fall portion of their 2012-2013 schedule at the Wingate Fall Frenzy at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center in Charlotte, N.C. The meet is set to start at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and ends Sunday.
This weekend’s championship style meet will be Eagles’ first competitive event after a three week break.
The Eagles will be competing against eight teams including two fellow Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association members Gardner-Webb University and College of Charleston. The other participating schools are host Wingate University as well as Queens University, Catawba College, Pfeiffer University, LeNoir-Rhyne University, and Mars Hill College.

BA finishes tourney unbeaten

The Bulloch Academy Lady Gators improved to 3-0 on the season and closed out their Lady Gator Classic tournament in style Thursday with a 54-37 win over Trinity Christian of Dublin.
Sydney Bozeman, Trinity's 6-foot-3 center, held BA's Anna Newton scoreless in a closely-contested first quarter that was tied until 4.8 seconds remained in the period, but Lauren Dennard hit a jumper to put the Gators ahead, 10-8.
    Bulloch never trailed after that.
Newton finished with a team-high 13 points, and Ashley Burke added nine.
The Gators led, 29-16 at halftime, and brought the game out of reach early in the third with a 10-0 run out of the break.
Bulloch will travel to Bellville Monday for Pinewood Christian's tournament, and the boys open their season the same day at Stratford Academy.
