An anonymous tip about suspected drug activity led Bulloch County Drug Suppression investigators to make seven methamphetamine arrests Tuesday.
The anonymous caller told drug agents about suspected methamphetamine manufacturing at a Mud Road home, Bulloch County Drug Suppression Team Capt. Rick Rountree said.
When drug investigators went to the home, they spoke with Amy Leigh Dickerson, 29, of Whitaker Lane in Brooklet, and then searched the home. They seized a quantity of methamphetamine and charged her with methamphetamine possession, Rountree said.
Dickerson’s boyfriend, James Franci, 32, of Jennie Wright Road in Pembroke, also was charged with possession of methamphetamine after he turned himself in to authorities Wednesday, Rountree said.
After obtaining information during the search and investigation at the Mud Road home, drug agents questioned Jacob Ryan Smith, 35, at his home on Starling Road in Pembroke. During the course of investigation, Smith “tried to sell (meth) to an undercover officer,” he said.
Smith was charged with criminal attempt to sell methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Christina Elizabeth Davis, 24, of Jackie Hart Road, was found at the same Starling Road location, and after further investigation was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Rountree said.
More arrests were made as others showed up at the home to purchase more methamphetamine, he said.
Robert Dean Blackburn, 54, of Possum Path in Metter, who was charged with methamphetamine possession, “showed up with meth in his pocket,” Rountree said.
Bennie Kyle Carter Jr., 21, of Maple Drive, also appeared at the Starling Road home to buy drugs, Rountree said. Carter was charged with criminal attempt to purchase methamphetamine.
Regina Leigh Cooper, 25, of Maple Drive, also was charged with criminal attempt to purchase methamphetamine.
Rountree said drug investigators constantly fight the meth problem in Bulloch County.
“It is a daily struggle for us,” he said. “We continue to get calls every day, and we do our best to follow up on every lead we get.”
Although the meth scene is constantly changing, with new ways to manufacture the drug and new ingredients, most of which are readily available in the home or for purchase at any department store, “We try to stay on top of things,” he said.
