The State Personnel Board consists of five citizens appointed by the governor for 5-year terms. The Board establishes and administers the Georgia State Personnel Rules and Regulations. The Rules provide uniform state personnel policies and are continually updated to comply with state and federal laws. The Board also hears appeals concerning discipline or dismissal of state employees governed by the Georgia Merit System.
