Wilson named only superintendent finalist

Charles Wilson, who has guided the Bulloch County school system's finances for the past 16 years, has been named the only finalist for the vacant superintendent's position.
The school board emerged from an executive session after 10 p.m. Thursday and unanimously voted to name him the finalist.
Wilson is the district's assistant superintendent of business and finance. He was selected from among 33 applicants. The board is set to vote on promoting Wilson to superintendent at its July 19 meeting.
Dr. Fran Stephens, the assistant superintendent for teaching and learning for grades six through 12, has been the interim superintendent since May.
Dr. Lewis Holloway tendered his resignation as superintendent Feb. 9 and left after high school graduation ceremonies May 26. He will be the superintendent of the Starkville, Miss., school system.
