Savannah video producer to address historical society

Savannah video producer Michael Jordan will be the keynote speaker at the 39th annual meeting of the Bulloch County Historical Society next week.
The meeting and dinner will be held in fellowship hall of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church on South Zetterower Avenue beginning at 6 p.m. Monday.
Jordan’s presentation will include excerpts from his newest video, “Savannah in the Civil War,” part of the society’s continuing observation of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. The video will be available for purchase by members at the meeting.
Members can pay for their meal at the door, but those who plan to attend should call Sylvia Harville at (912) 839-5231. Members will elect officers and approve new bylaws among other business slated for the meeting.
    Jordan is the president
of Cosmos Mariner Productions, a video production house producing syndicated military and history television programs for local and regional broadcast. Last August, he produced and hosted “No Higher Honor,” a two-part series featuring a U.S. Navy frigate deployed to the east coast of Africa.
In 2010-2011, Jordan produced and hosted “Rock of the Marne,” a 10-part television series featuring 3rd Infantry Division soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Another Jordan production was “A Call to Arms,” a series featuring Georgia National Guard troops deployed to Afghanistan. The series aired on a Savannah TV station and some of the stories appeared on CBS Atlanta.
Earlier this year he created a documentary, “Savannah’s Famous Ships,” and “In the Footsteps of Juliette.” Jordan hosts a weekend news talk radio show on WTKS in Savannah and is the former news anchor and reporter for WSAV-TV 3 in Savannah in addition to other broadcast positions in the Southeast.
Jordan received numerous awards for his videos and documentaries, including a nomination for a Regional Emmy Award in 2007 for “Life on the Big E.” He holds a Master of Arts degree in history from Armstrong Atlantic State University and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn. He is married to Dr. Krista Wiegand, a professor of international relations at Georgia Southern University.
