Pat Stewart

Pat Stewart is an active member of Friendship Baptist Church and she is a focal point for this church's ministry to those undergoing cancer treatment. The project is called "Friendly Blessings," and involves making colorful and attractive tote bags for those going through chemotherapy or radiation treatments. The bags are filled with items that can make the waiting time associated with long trips to the doctor's offices speed by a bit faster. Pat's group will place inside the tote a magazine, a paperback book, a puzzle book, bottled water, hand sanitizer, hard candy and miscellaneous notions - things the patient can carry to each session or treatment. Pat Stewart is always looking for ways to help the sick, the needy or the elderly. Pat volunteers time each week at the Portal Food Pantry and the Portal Thrift Store.
