Sara Melford

One friend describes Sara Melford as "the most caring person I have ever met." Despite a few medical issues, Sara is dedicated to helping improve the lives of others. She is an active volunteer with ACTS - Area Christians Together in Service - volunteering for at least three hours each week as a database researcher. Sara has just assumed the responsibility for the First Methodist Soup Kitchen, where, on average, 250 individuals are served a hot meal every Saturday. Sara possesses a "spiritual gift" for shopping and puts that gift to work creating gift packages for those in need - creating over 300 gift bundles last Christmas. Sara is a new member of First Methodist's Helping Hands ministry to the shut-in community. She also participates in the church's Backpack Buddies program and she works with seniors at the local Outreach Center.
