Sea Island announces 5 promotions

    Sea Island Bank recently promoted several members of its Statesboro banking staff, according to Executive Vice President Gary L. Johnson.

In making the announcement, Johnson said: "It is always gratifying to recognize our team members for outstanding performance. Everything we do ultimately depends on our team members and we're proud of the leadership they are providing. Their commitment to our sales and service objectives has built a foundation for future success."

Dennis Eubanks has been named assistant vice president. Having joined Sea Island in 1996, Eubanks serves as a loan review specialist. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking, Eubanks also received Credit Risk Certification from the Risk Management Associates and Certified Lender Business Banker certification from the Institute of Certified Bankers. Eubanks is a member of the local chapter of the National Association of Retired Government Employees. He and his wife, Patty, are members of First United Methodist Church. They have three children: Felicia, Julie and Alanna; and five grandchildren.

John Roach has been appointed assistant vice president and commercial loan officer. Roach, who joined Sea Island in 2002, previously served as a consumer lender. Active in the community, Roach is a member of the Kiwanis Club, 2007 Leadership Bulloch and an advisor to the Kappa Alpha Order Alumni Chapter. A graduate of Statesboro High School and Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, he and his wife, Joie, have one daughter: Anderson. They are members of First United Methodist Church.

Julie Franklin has been promoted to banking officer. Franklin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia. A member of First United Methodist Church, Franklin volunteers with the Soup Kitchen. She is a foster parent with the Bulloch County Department of Family and Children Services.

Donya McKenzie has been named banking officer. McKenzie also serves as loan supervisor. A member of Shoreline Missions of Zimbabwe, Africa, McKenzie attends Believers Church of Statesboro. She and her husband, Mark, have two children: Samantha and Alayna.

Joseph Shuford has been named banking officer. Joining Sea Island in 2002, Shuford is a cash management sales representative. A graduate of Georgia Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Shuford serves on the board of the University's Alumni Association. He and his wife, Sommer, are members of First Baptist Church.
