Text Size: Small Large Medium
A woman became enraged during an argument Wednesday evening and struck a man in the head with a baseball bat, said Statesboro Police Capt. L. C. Williams, criminal investigations division commander.
Officers responded to a call about a man " on the ground bleeding from the head" at a Denmark Street address around 8:34 p.m. Wednesday, he said.
Det. Ken Scott also arrived at the scene and began investigating the incident, while Bulloch County EMS arrived and treated the man, then took him to the emergency room at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, he said.
After speaking with the victim and witnesses, Scott learned a female known as "Dee Hall" struck the victim in the head with a metal baseball bat while arguing at Morris Heights Apartments.
Witnesses told Scott the victim "left the scene in his vehicle" and was later found on Denmark Street, where he "stopped and had fallen to the ground."
Scott located the offender, who was correctly identified as Salenophia Tanyanet Hall, 31,  Morris Street.
Hall was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where she was later released on a $2,000 bond.
