SEB hopes to avoid 0-3 start

The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets travel to Augusta tonight to face Josey, looking to avoid an 0-3 start in tough region 3-AA.
"We went back to fundmentals," said SEB head coach Mike Ward, discussing this week's practice following a bye week. "We know this is a must-win, so we've stayed upbeat and tried to stay confident."
Southeast (1-4, 0-2) has lost three in a row, but have had a week to rest before making the trek to Augusta tonight.
They'll face an athletic Josey team (2-3, 1-1) which Ward believes had a chance to be 4-1 at this point. The Eagles led Jefferson County 6-2 last week with two minutes to go before allowing a late touchdown to lose 9-6.
"They're a very athletic football team," said Ward. "They dress around 42 kids but they probably only play 16 or 17. They have some big defensive lineman and a dangerous quarterback that plays some running back and cornerback as well."
The Jackets will be without Tharon Davis (broken wrist) and Jon Lanier (seperated shoulder). Sophomore Greg Wright will get the start at tailback while Josh Ward will start at fullback.
Josey will run out of the Pro-I, show a little shotgun and run a 50 defense similar to that of SEB's. The Eagles' two wins came over Metter and Butler.
The Eagles have lost to Hart County, Glenn Hills and the aforementioned Jefferson County. Josey was in region 7-AA last year and failed to win a game. JHS, Laney, Screven County an Augusta are all in a four-way tie for second place in 3-AA going into tonight's game.
The Yellow Jackets will also have to deal with a Josey crowd that Ward called, "very hostile".
