App. State rallies for win over GSU

 BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State (31-24, 15-14) rallied to score five runs in the eighth inning to come from behind to take the final regular-season series from Georgia Southern (31-23, 17-12) with a 8-6 win on Friday. The Eagles had opportunities against ASU starter Austin Hyatt to pad on a few more runs in the first half of the game, but stranded 14 baserunners. GSU closes the regular season tomorrow with a 1 p.m. game at the Mountaineers' Smith Stadium.
