Local Roundup - Gators sweep DH

LYONS — The Bulloch Academy Gators won a pair of games in Lyons to open the season Friday.
    Win Lee got the start as Bulloch knocked off Frederica 16-4.
    Walker Blitch took the mound in the second game as BA downed Memorial 12-9.
    The Gators return to action Tuesday as they host Memorial at 4:30 p.m.

Lady Gamecocks defeat Dodge County
    EASTMAN — The Screven County Lady Gamecocks (6-1, 6-1 3-AA) defeated Dodge County 9-0 Friday. 
    Rochelle Shuman and Gentri Becton each scored two goals while Stormee Nasworthy, Morgan Boswell, Kourtney Grossm, Joyli Lindsey and Hannah Jones each scored one. 
    Screven will face Dublin on the road Tuesday at 5 p.m.

SEB edges Bleckley on late header

    BROOKLET — Doug Flott scored on a header off a throw in by Drew Ware with two minutes to play to give Southeast Bulloch High a 2-1 victory over Bleckley County Friday night at Fred Shaver Field in Brooklet.
    Flott also scored about midway through the first half to tie the score at 1-1 when the Bleckley goalie could not hold his initial shot and he booted it into the goal. Flott now has five goals on the season, including two off throw ins by Ware.
    The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-1 on the season and 4-1 in Region 3-AA. Southeast travels to Cochran Monday for a rematch with Bleckley.
