Claxton's Yancy inks with Valdosta State

Claxton’s Jesse Yancy, center, is joined by parents Allen Yancy and Amy Simpson as he signs a scholarship to play football for Valdosta State University this fall.
Standing 6-foot-6, Yancy has been an imposing force on the Claxton offensive line as he led the Tigers to the Region 3-A play-in round in each of the last three seasons.
“Playing at Claxton has been great,” said Yancy. “I’ve loved playing for our coaches and with everyone else, but I’ve thought about playing college football since middle school, and I’m excited to get that chance.”
