Allison Steinhaus said she was just trying to relax Tuesday night against region rival Southeast Bulloch. Steinhaus did just that, ripping a pitch into right field to plate two runs — the eventual game-winners — against region rival Southeast Bulloch Tuesday.
A junior, Steinhaus came into the game hitting just .224, but is now third on the team with 13 RBI behind three of her teammates. The shortstop is 10-for-10 on stolen bases for the year and has an on-base percentage of .345. She has a double, triple and 15 runs scored.
One of those runs came in Tuesday’s effort, as Steinhaus wentg 1-for-3. She said the win over SEB was "great...it was great."
Steinhaus and the Lady Gamecocks now look to make a run to the state tournament, starting with region tournament play on Thursday at 3 p.m..
"We just got to stay focused," said Steinhaus. "Stay focused on our hitting and just do our best."
Steinhaus helped the Lady Gamecocks improve their record to 18-4 and 12-1 in region 3-AA play.
