    Dr. and Mrs. Hudson John Powell Sr. of Statesboro, Georgia, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alison Lynne Powell, to Robert John McNeill IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert John McNeill III of Macon, Georgia.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bluestein of Darien, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lee Powell Sr. of Statesboro. Alison is a 1999 honor graduate of Statesboro High School and attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She graduated with honors in 2003 from the University of Georgia Henry W. Grady College of Journalism, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology. She attended Georgia State University in Atlanta and received a Master's in Professional Counseling, Education Specialist degree focusing on Families and Children, and a School Counseling degree. She is currently employed as the Lower School guidance counselor at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Alpharetta.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Gardner McKenzie of Macon, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert John McNeill Jr. of Perry, Ga. He is a 1999 graduate of Stratford Academy in Macon and a 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master's of Accounting from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. After graduation, he worked as a senior associate for KPMG in Atlanta. He graduated with honors from Emory University, with a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He is currently working as the manager of Financial Analysis for RockTenn in Atlanta.
    The wedding is planned for May 7, 2011, in Athens, Ga.
